Alternate GPS Address : 200 E Main Street, New Freedom PA 17349

Alternate GPS Address to Rose Fire Company: 200 E Main St, New Freedom, PA 17349

The alternate GPS address is supplied as 150 E. Main street occasionally sends people to the wrong place, depending on what mapping program you are using If you plug in 150 E Main Street in New Freedom and the map isn't showing you New Freedom, use the second address.

Our venue is a grassy tree shaded park positioned behind the New Freedom Community Center and the Rose Fire Company. We have plenty of space to expand, sprawl, and grow as well as plenty of shade to keep the event cool. We just plead with attendees to mind your footwear choices on our uneven grassy ground!

We also reserve the community center in case of rain (We learned our lesson after the Great Deluge of 2015!) and to have available as an air conditioned space for activities or just a place to escape to for cool down time.

ALSO BEWARE
The Shrewsbury exit off of I-83 / Exit 4 is UNDER HEAVY CONSTRUCTION

We suggest the following:

If coming up 83 from the SOUTH Use the exit for MD 439 / Exit 36.

If coming down 83 from the NORTH use the exit for Glen Rock / Exit 8.

Or take Exit 4. Have an adventure. Curse traffic. Regret life decisions.

Music

Eli August with samples from Fablelore

Eli is back! Returning to the Market with old favorites as well as samplings from his new fantasy-inspired band project, Fablelore!

"The music of Eli August is akin to the waters of a great river. It’s always moving and pushing forward, whether through percussive guitar and banjo, or the urgency of delicately crafted lyrics; the music never looks back.

The Dark Americana music is, at its roots, devoted to romantics and those who reflect upon their days with a certain longing for the past. Eli is often backed by an ever changing East Coast collective called The Abandoned Buildings, who bring rich and earthy orchestrations to the settings imagined in August’s songwriting, from the deep undulations of the ocean, to the quiet mystery of the forest and the openness of the dry and dusty road.

Whether solo, or along with the Abandoned Buildings, Eli will have you tapping your foot, singing along and reminiscing of your own long ago journeys."

Vending Registration for SPFM 2019 and Two New Shows!

The Steampunk Farmers Market will be returning on August 24th, 2019 for it's fifth year anniversary!  We are starting vending registration earlier than ever in hopes that we can make the 2019 Market the biggest yet!

Alongside the Steampunk Farmers Market, from the same staff and organizers, two new special events are being added to the New Freedom Farmers Market's calendar that may appeal to our Market and Steampunk crowds.

The New Faeriedom Festival, April 27th 2019

With Spoutwood retiring their long-running and long-cherished Fairy Festival as of the 2018 season, the New Freedom Farmers Market aims to keep a piece of that magical spirit alive in the area, at similar time of year, for 2019. Our goal is to transform the grounds of the farmers market and the New Freedom Community Center into a magical springtime fairy wonderland for the day, full of music, joy, activities, creativity, food, other entertainment, and of course a little fairy magic. This festival is one of two new festivals being brought to the Farmers Market for the 2019 season.

The New Faeriedom Festival is, as of this time, not officially affiliated with the Spoutwood Fairy Festival.

The Throwback Bazaar and Farmers Market, September 28th

Evoking the sense of nostalgia that comes with the memory of Saturday Morning Cartoons paired with sugary breakfast cereal, the Farmers Market is hosting New Freedom’s very own mini comic book, sci-fi, fantasy, cartoon, and pop culture event!

The second of two new festivals, The Throwback Bazaar and Farmers Market is crafted in the theme of other larger comic book and pop culture conventions, just on a smaller scale. We aim to have a collection of comic book and toy vendors (both retro/vintage and modern), an Artists Alley for comic book artists (both published and aspiring) to show off their work, possibly live music, and if we are lucky - find a modestly priced Special Guest or two to sign autographs (book authors, voice actors, tv actors, etc).

The application forms for ALL THREE of the New Freedom Farmers Market/ New Freedom Recreation Council 2019 events (New Faeriedom Festival, Steampunk Farmers Market, Throwback Bazaar are ready in nice handy combo forms! You can sign up for just one event, or multiple all at once. Interested in vending in multiple events but aren't entirely sure if you can do the ones later in the year? You can do a second application when you are ready. Only interested in the New Faeriedom Festival? Then just disregard all sections labeled for Steampunk and Throwback.

For vending, we have a two part application system for 2019. Part 1 is the online google forms application. If you are approved, you will receive Part 2, a 'receipt' laying out all your chosen options/events and your complete total which you will then have to mail into the New Freedom Borough Office with your payment.

Looking to be a guest, entertainer, or activity host at one of these events? Check out the entertainer application form. We would love to hear from you!

ROAD CLOSURE JUST WEST OF NEW FREEDOM - Detour

Here a closed road, there a closed road, everywhere a closed road!

On route 851/Steltz Road, just West of New Freedom, the road is closed for bridge repair where 851/Keeney Mill, and Smith Mill roads intersect The detour signs for this closure coming from the West are either non existent or placed extremely poorly so we are doing our best efforts to alert anyone coming into town from that direction who may not already be familiar with the area.

We suggest, at the closure point, veer a slight RIGHT down Smith Mill past the ramshackle barn, following the silver truck in the first photo. Do not TURN right up Keeney Mill, or you will wander off into Maryland. You will follow Smith Mill to a stop sign which will be Front Street.

Turn LEFT, and this rill run you straight down into New Freedom and bring you out to Main Street with Steam Into History on your right and Paesano's across the street.

Turn RIGHT and this will take you up to the event grounds at the New Freedom Community Center and Rose Fire Hall. If you drive past the Fire Hall on the Right you have gone too far. Once you turn into the parking lot between the Community Center and the Fire Hall you will be able to see the event grounds and the wooden pavilion that has the Farmers Market mural painted on it.

Event Address: 150 East Main Street, New Freedom PA, 17349.
Alternate GPS Address to Rose Fire Hall :200 E Main St, New Freedom, PA 17349

The alternate GPS address is supplied as 150 E. Main street occasionally sends people to the wrong place depending on what mapping program you are using (but we think we have it fixed.) If you plug in 150 E Main Street in New Freedom and the map isn't showing you New Freedom, use the second address.
